5 Christmas Faves - My Picks
In my heart, it's been Christmas since Nov. 1, but I think it’s socially acceptable now that it’s past Thanksgiving so I’m here to share a few of my picks for Christmas decor, treats, and clothes! Sorry for the delay, I had a hard time shaking my Thanksgiving coma…
Reindeer Stocking Hooks
I've never really gone all out decorating the apartments I've lived in over the years because I'd always end up spending the majority of the holiday season at my mom's house so we'd do the tree, stockings, etc. over there. Last year, I was just moving into my current house and barely had any furniture, let alone Christmas decor (I used the plastic storage tubs from my move as a coffee table and tv stand for a good couple months and had a big empty space in my dining area because I couldn’t find a table I liked until I decided to just build my own). But this year I finally get to put up some things around the house.
These were probably the first things I found as soon as TJMaxx rolled out their holiday section. They’re so cute, they came in a matching pair and I couldn’t not get them. I know it’s hard to find things from TJMaxx once they’re gone because they have so many different and unique things that you can’t always find across stores, but I found this one from Crate and Barrel if you’re wanting a similar look.
Hearth + Hand Stockings
Of course along with the stocking holders, I needed some stockings to hang. I've always had the standard fluffy red and white Christmas stockings but I really liked these Magnolia Hearth & Hand stockings and debated getting them until they were pretty much all sold out—doesn't it make you realize you really want it after you see that it's sold out?
I was set on this plaid one and then another that would match it but it was all sold out online. Somehow I was lucky enough to pick one up that someone left behind in a random unrelated aisle at Target. Meant to be? Maybe. Did it convince me to get it? Yes.
These two that I have are out of stock online (the cream with black accents, and white & black plaid) but I’ll link them so you can check to see if they’re in stock in your stores (I’d order online and pick-up in store if you really want to make sure you get them. I feel like that’s always so convenient, especially if you’re impatient like me and don’t want to wait for it to be shipped). There’s also still a few different patterns left online, like this cream with red accents, and some of the darker colors.
Annual Ornament
This year is Blake and my first Christmas together, so this ornament is a special little thing for me. I used to pick out a Christmas ornament each year to add to the tree and would always write the year on the bottom of it. So this year we picked one out together. This one's from World Market, they have tons of ornaments for basically any style of decor you want from the cute to the quirky. I could walk around that store for hours.
Fuzzy Sweaters
I pretty much live in sweaters throughout fall and winter. I get most of my sweaters from H&M and TJMaxx (surprise, surprise—I like a good deal). These are some of my favorites right now, the soft, white and cream colors just feel so wintery and pretty.
You can find the white fuzzy one at H&M plus so many others, they always have lots of options, can you even leave with just one?
The cream one is by Philosophy Republic, again, it can be hard to find things more than once at TJMaxx! But they also have a huge selection around this time of year.
Halo Top Gingerbread House Ice Cream
Before you judge this for being "fake ice-cream" or "protein ice cream" it doesn't have that artificial sugar (they use stevia, cane sugar, and erythritol) or protein powder taste. It's surprisingly tasty and you can feel a bit better about eating it. I usually get the birthday cake flavor, but I stumbled on this one and my love for Christmas convinced me to try it. It has yummy little graham cracker crumbles and a really good flavor.
Peppermint Candy Cane Hershey's Kisses
Okay I get overly excited every year when these peppermint candy cane Hershey’s come out and once they're gone for the season, I always try to ration what I have to last as long as possible until I can buy them again the next winter. I'm not usually a white chocolate fan—dark chocolate, don't even get me started—but I love the little crunchy pieces of peppermint that are mixed into these. So good. If you want to find me this winter, just follow the trail of red and silver Hershey’s wrappers.
There’s so many things about Christmas time that just feel happy and special so prepare to hear all about it the next few weeks. ☺️And if you need some help with Gift Wrapping Ideas, I got ya.
